June 18th, 2018 – Police Respond to Alleged Robbery/Battery Incident

The video above is of Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office responding to an incident that happened on June 18th, 2018 at 1:35am C/T in Gretna,LA. The video is originally 3 seperate videos that I recorded with my phone at the time of incident and then pieced together into the video above.

On June 18th, 2018 at 1:35am C/T I was in my apartment watching TV and the next thing I know I hear a woman yelling and arguing outside with another individual, I open my door to look and then I hear police sirens coming from multiple directions I go back in to get my phone to record but about time I get back out like 5 or 6 police officers already had the woman on ground tazing her and I hear her yelling she’s pregnant I start recording with my phone at this point now 1:37am C/T and she’s continues to yell that they are kneeling on her stomach and that she’s bleeding and police are yelling at her to stop resisting at the sametime more police are also arriving on the scene.

I am unsure of exactly the reason why the police took this woman down as I stated above I had went inside to retrieve my phone so I could record and once I got back outside and began recording the police had already had her on the ground so I did not see the initial interaction between the woman and the police when the first officers arrived on scene.

For some reason my phone decided to stop recording so I began recording again at 1:46am C/T

They left the woman handcuffed sitting on the ground for about 30 minutes at one point one of the officers can be heard telling her she has a warrant out of Orleans Parish, EMS came and checked her out (My phone died at 2:01am C/T so I only have 16 minutes of that recorded) I managed to get a recording of what EMS said at 2:03am C/T on my scanner which you can listen to here:

They said she complained of abdominal pain, her vitals were all stable, she had no drugs or alcohol in her blood, they said she wasn’t in any risk including death and they said she was being very uncooperative with them and that they request she go with the police and that the police could contact them again if they needed any further assistance. With my phone charged enough I began recording again at 2:14am C/T the police finally put her in the car but then she started kicking the door/window after they closed it screaming she wanted to die so they had to restrain her some more I believe as several police officers opened the door and crowded in front of it then they closed the door and left to transport the woman to jail. Several other police and detectives remained on scene searching the area to around 4am C/T.

The woman’s charges were later released that day on JPSO ‘s website.

Her charges were:

SIMPLE BATTERY

ROBBERY/SIMPLE

BATTERY OF POLICE OFF-W/ INJURY

BATTERY OF POLICE OFF-W/ INJURY

RESISTING POLICE WITH FORCE/VIOLENCE

FUGITIVE FROM JUSTICE
