The NOPD is searching for a female suspect in connection with the theft of a handgun that occurred on July 31, 2018 in the 1400 block of Sere Street.

On the aforementioned date, the victim told police he met up with a white female he only knows as “Stephanie” and offered to give her a ride. The victim picked up the female at the intersection of Canal Street and North Carrollton Avenue, then drove to the underpass at Sere Street & St. Bernard Avenue before driving to the 1400 block of Sere Street. Once at the location, the victim went into a residence, leaving “Stephanie” in his car. Shortly afterwards, “Stephanie” was seen running down the street with the victim’s handgun.

The female subject, whose picture is included, is believed to frequent the Tulane Avenue area in the First District.
