
The NOPD has arrested Delton Hunter (DOB: 05-15-1996) after he was found to allegedly be in possession of illegal narcotics while in the 400 block of Bourbon Street on January 20, 2019.
As members of the NOPD Eighth District’s Bourbon Street Promenade Unit were on patrol, they notice a subject standing in the 400 block of Bourbon Street smoking material that matched the profile of marijuana. The subject was detained and arrested for the above violation. Upon a search incident to arrest, the subject was found to be in possession of 28 bags of individually wrapped marijuana, one large bag of marijuana and two hand rolled cigars. The subject was also in possession of more than $100 in cash.
The subject, later identified as Hunter, was transported and booked accordingly into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
His charges include:
Possession of Marijuana (R.S. 40:966) – Bond: $1000.00
Possession with the intent to distribute Marijuana (R.S. 40:966:(A)(2)) – Bond: $2500.00
Introduction of contraband into prison (R.S. 14:402) – Bond: $0.00
And two unknown municipal attachments.
According to court records, on Monday January 21, 2019 Magistrate Commissioner Jonathan Friedman found probable cause to hold Hunter on the charges of “Possession of Marijuana” and “Possession with the intent to distribute Marijuana”, however determined there was no probable cause as to the charge of “Introduction of contraband into prison”.
His total bond was set to $3500.00
