Car Hits Utility Pole Knocking Power Out to 2,700 in Harvey and Gretna Area on West Bank of Jefferson Parish Monday Evening, Entergy Says


A car stuck a utility pole around 6:30pm this evening knocking out power to 2,700 customers.

According to a statement from an Entergy LA representative, there are approximately 70 customers currently without power in the Harvey and Gretna area. The outage was caused when a vehicle hit a pole in that area shortly after 6:30 p.m. Monday. It originally knocked out power to approximately 2,700; however, virtually all were restored within about an hour. Crews are continuing to work as safely as possible to restore power to the approximately 70 customers remaining without power.

According to Entergy Louisiana’s power outage map, power should be restored to the remaining customers at 2:00am .
